Mitchell Wayne Aaseby, age 59 of Big Lake passed at his residence on Monday July 6. Visitation will be Monday July 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Johnston officiating. There will be a private interment. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimmso Chapel of Monticello.

 

Mitchell was born on March 13, 1956 in Thief River Falls, MN to George and Mavis (Hovden) Aaseby. He grew up in the Brooklyn Park area, and after moving with his family to Sherburne County, graduated from Becker High School.  He was united in marriage to Susy Nelson in 1978.  He worked in the construction industry most of his life.  He enjoyed drag racing his 1978 Corvette, family gatherings, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.  

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mavis.  Mitchell is survived by his wife, Susy; son Jesse Aaseby of Big Lake;daughter Katie (Greg) Amundson of Otsego; 3 grandchildren Jayden, Taylor and Greg; brothers Rob and Britt Aaseby; sister Georgia Redden; and several nieces and nephews.
