Maree Lange, age 89, of Foley, died Friday, September 25 at the Foley Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Sat. Oct. 3, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, Foley. The Rev. Allen Jergenson will officiate. Burial will be in the South Santiago Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sherburne County. Friends may call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Sat. at the First Presbyterian Church in Foley. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
Maree Elizabeth Lange was born December 29, 1925 in Becker, Minnesota to Samuel and Laura (Kolbinger) Johnson. She married Robert Lange on February 1, 1947 in Becker, and they lived in the Becker and Foley area all of their married life. The couple farmed and raised beef and dairy cattle for many years. Together they owned and operated a Toro business for 18 years. Maree enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and Bingo and going to rodeos. She also liked going to the casino, and always started her day out with a good crossword puzzle. The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses, Molly and Peg, and the staff at the Foley Nursing Center for all the care and compassion they showed Maree during her illness. She was a member of the Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church.
Maree is survived by her daughters and son - Barbara (Gary) Riebel, Coon Rapids; Robert Jr. (Marcia), Waite Park; Beth (Evans) Mbuka, Las Vegas; Bonnie (Mark) Gadacz, Hillman; by son-in-law, Blake Hanson, Grand Rapids, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; by sisters and brothers - Marilou Johnson, Fridley; Ann, Norman and Ronald Johnson of Becker and Alden 'Junie' of Aitkin. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert; by daughter, Bette Hanson, and an infant daughter; and by sister, Rose Thorsten, brother, Milton and grandson, Michael Mbuka.
