Charles “Chaz” G. Longley, age 88, of Elk River passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Charles was born on March 20, 1936 in St. Louis Park, MN to R.V. and Dorothy (Quimby) Longley. As a teen he was a Golden Glove Boxer and graduated from Monticello High School in 1954. He was married to Carol Bialke on September 29, 1956 in Becker, MN. Chaz worked as a cement mason most of his life for Rauenhorst Construction, now Opus Corp and was a member of the Cement Masons Union #633 for 70 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, puzzles, and his cat, Cuddles.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Longley; children, Chris (Robin) Longley and Carrie (Rick Foster) Brummer; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild to be born in May; brothers, Larry and Richard Longley; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Charles T. Longley, Courtney and Celeste; and siblings, Ted, Bob, Gayle, Lorraine, and Orrin.
