Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Mon.,   Dec. 28 at St. Marcus Catholic Church, Clear Lake for Cecil M. Peterson, age 88, who passed away Wednesday, December 23rd at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27 at St. Marcus Catholic Church and one hour prior to the services Monday also at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church in Clear Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Clear Lake.

 

Cecil was born Feb. 5, 1927 in Palmer Township to Carl & Anna (Wipper) Peterson. He married Joan Kronenberg on April 15, 1958 in St. Cloud. Cecil was a farmer and lived in the Clear Lake area all of his life. He was a member of St. Marcus Catholic Church, Palmer Township Board for many years, Clear Lake Farmers Elevator, Sherburne County Planning Commission and a charter member of the Clear Lake Lions Club. He enjoyed reading and playing cards especially 500 and whist. He loved his grandchildren and had a strong faith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Joan of Clear Lake; sons and daughter, Alan (Laurie) of Clear Lake, Glen (Patty Jo) of Clear Lake, and Rita (Jerry) Gooley of Rogers; sister and brothers, Mildred Peterson of Clear Lake, Ray (Betty) of Davenport, IA, and Roy (Alice) of Nisswa; brother-in-law, Andy Stutzman of Carthage, MO; six grandsons and two great grandsons. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Emma Jean Stutzman.
