Arnold David Utz, Sr., age 85, Foley, MN, died Thurs., March 26 at Heritage of Foley.

 

Funeral services were Thurs., April 2 at Faith Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. Visitation was Wed., April 1 at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Burial was in South Santiago Lutheran Cemetery, Sherburne County.

 

David was born Oct. 13, 1929 in Long Prairie, MN to Arnold Ivan and Frances (DeLaurier) Utz. He married Delphine Dibblee on March 30, 1956 in St. Cloud, MN. She died June 16, 1998. On May 29, 2004 David married Ferne Rakke in St. Cloud, MN. David farmed all his life in Long Prairie, St. Cloud and Clear Lake, MN. He was also employed by Minneapolis Sheet Metal for over 40 years. David was a stock car racer, racing at Golden Spike Speedway in Sauk Rapids. He also raced in Princeton and Brainerd.  David was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed farming, taking care of cattle, gardening, muskie fishing, and golfing.

 

Survivors include his wife, Ferne Rakke-Utz of Foley, MN; children, Jackie (Marv) Anderson of Waite Park, MN; Amy Robbins of St. Cloud, MN; Arnold David (Mary) Utz, Jr. of Ronneby, MN; Cecelia (Guy) Olson of Clear Lake; Donald Utz of Waite Park, MN; Dennis Utz of Clear Lake, MN;  step children, Linda McGowan of Rice, MN; Cheryl Gave of St. Cloud MN; Randy (Sandra) Rakke of St. Cloud, MN; Ronald (Toni) Rakke of St. Cloud, MN; Donald (Jill) Rakke of St. Cloud, MN; Kenneth (Tami) Rakke of Foley, MN;  12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 13 step grandchildren; 24 step great grandchildren; brother, James O. (Lucy) Utz of Mesa, AZ; sisters Edythe A. Ferkinhoff of St. Cloud, MN; and Dana J. Fruth of St. Cloud, MN.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Delphine, son, Douglas Utz on June 9 2013, brother, Warren Utz, sister, Frances “Arbuta” Yeutter, and an infant sister, Amy.
