Vacation Bible School (VBS) continues to go strong throughout the local area, with two Clearwater churches offering fun and learning for kids this week.
Tri-County Alliance Church’s (TCA) VBS ran with a circus theme, “The Greatest Show Ever.” Partnering with the Joy Christian Center in St. Cloud, the church was decorated with red and white striped panels, animals and balloons for the four days students attended the festivities.
Beginning with a family meal each evening, there were songs, Bible stories and memory verses throughout the week. Students also gave offering to support Operation Christmas Child, an organization that collects gift-filled shoeboxes to send to children in need around the world.
St. Luke’s Catholic Church VBS theme was Splash Canyon. With decorations depicting an outdoor adventure with a tent, raft, mountains, falls, canoes, trees and animals, the students had “Jesus by their side for a wild ride.”
Pre-schooler’s through 6th grade spent the week in various activities, coming together at the end of each evening to sing and talk about what they learned that day. Led by Jacob Popp, the students even had a mascot for the week, Rosie the otter.
Students also collected food for the Clearwater/Clear Lake area food shelf.
