The votes are in!
Tuesday’s Election Night has concluded and to many there were numerous surprises and to some, not so much. Following are the results for the nation, State of Minnesota and the communities we serve:
Presidential Election
Donald Trump emerged victorious Tuesday to the disappointment of many Democrats across the state and nation. Trump (as of Wednesday) received 295 votes compared to 226 for Kamala Harris with two states still uncalled (as of press time) including Nevad and Arizona. Trump/Vance will be sworn-in to their new jobs come January with the Biden administration bidding them adieu.
Surprisingly, the State of Minnesota was a hotly-contested state with Harris eking out the victory, 1,652,793 votes to Trump’s 1,509,422.
In other national election news, Trump and his administration will have enhanced power, making it substantially easier to turn policy proposals into law since Republicans won the Senate majority with House control still up for grabs.
For U.S. House-District 6, Incumbent Tom Emmer outpaced Democrat Jeanne Hendricks to win the election 251,702 votes to 150,527.
For U.S. Senate, Incumbent Amy Klobuchar retained her seat with a 1,787,837 to 1,285,246 win over challenger Royce White.
