Last Saturday, Scoutmaster Jason Kardell and Boy Scouts Troop 92 Committee Chair Corinne Lozinski discovered the troop’s trailer used for their monthly paper drives was missing from its normal parking location in the Becker business district.
The lock used to secure the trailer had been disabled and the trailer removed from the premises sometime between the dates of July 5 and Aug. 2.
A stolen property report was filed Monday evening with the Becker Police Dept.
The 2012 trailer is described as being black in color, 18 feet long, five feet tall with an open bed and a pull-over style mesh cover (black). It has a tandem (dual) axle and a hydraulic lift. It also has a black welded toolbox right behind the hitch and a set of ramps on the back end under the carriage. The plate number is 8254CMT.
When last seen by the Boy Scouts, it had a three-foot by two-foot grey sign on each side that reads “cardboard/paper recycling proceeds go to Becker Boy Scouts Troop 92”.
The estimated cost of the trailer is $10,000.
If anyone in the public sees this trailer, they are asked to obtain an accurate description of the vehicle pulling the trailer as well as the location. Contact the Becker Police Department at 763-261-4300 during standard business hours and 911 after business hours.
The Becker Boy Scout Troop 92 monthly paper drive allows the scouts to earn an individual income towards camps and other scout activities. Lozinski said if the trailer is not recovered, the scouts will have to find fundraising ways to pay for a new trailer since the original was purchased through grants from the state that are no longer available.
“The trailer is an integral part of the troop’s fundraising efforts,” said Lozinski.
