Stearns Co. offers Lake Moonlight Hike

For those looking for ways to spend more time in the great outdoors this winter, Stearns Co. Park Dept. is excited to offer their 1st Annual Moonlight Hike at Warner Lake Park on February 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Starting at the Warner Lake Nature Center, the hike consists of two miles of luminary walking trails along the park’s inside loop. Headlamps or flashlights are recommended for those heading to the outside loop.

Along with hiking there will be a bonfire at the Nature Center with s’mores, hot drinks, and door prizes.

The benefits to winter hiking are many, including the improvement of physical health, winter mental health, and taking in the incredible winter scenery. Most importantly – no bugs!

Warner Lake’s Moonlight Hike is being brought by Clearwater Outfitting, The Preserve, Riverside Nutrition, Stearns Co. Park Dept., and the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership.

Warner Lake Nature Center is located at 1485 Co. Road 143 in Clearwater. Along with the winter hike, the park offers a number of cross country ski trails, a snowmobile trail, and a multi-use trail. For more information visit www.StearnsCountyMN.gov/402/Warner-Lake-County-Park.
