St. Lukes Vbs Students ‘Stock The Stock Tank’

St. Lukes in Clearwater held their annual Vacation Bible School for approximately 75 students Aug. 7–11. VBS is open to kids four yrs to sixth grade, and all area children are welcome to attend. This year’s theme was barnyard roundup.

St. Luke’s VBS is run almost entirely by the older youth of the congregation, with adults helping mainly in the kitchen. The youth leaders plan each day of the event along with creating all the props and decorations needed to make it a fun, engaging experience for attendees.

To go along with the barnyard theme, a contest was held called “Let’s Stock the Tank,” in which the boys and girls competed against each other to see which group could bring in the most food items for the “stock tank.”

The kids had a lot of fun with it, and ended up collecting 550 food items, amounting to 410 pounds of food. The Clearwater Clear Lake Food Shelf stated it was one of the largest donations they had ever received.
