Santa Makes Last Minute Stop At Bank Last Friday

Santa and Mrs. Claus made a visit to Sherburne State Bank in Becker last Friday to the delight of numerous youngsters.

Kids who arrived were greeted by bank employees and given candy canes and cookies to enjoy while waiting in line to see the big fella from 3-5 p.m. Ellis Bakery provided many of the treats that included frosted, iced and sprinkled cookies and bars in festive colors.

Sarah Barthel, a SSB employee enjoying a day-off, brought her kids, Saul (8) and Hazel (3) to see St. Nick and his wife. The jolly old elf and his mate were supplied big, cushy chairs by the Christmas tree to set the atmosphere for last-minute Christmas gift requests.

Seven-year-old Sarah Norton of Palmer arrived with her grandma, Nancy hoping to chew Santa’s ear about her wish list. She arrived on Santa’s knee holding a stuffed Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer doll and was excited to ask the big guy to fulfill her dreams.

Sherburne State Bank was also a host for dropping off gifts for the Toys For Tots campaign. SSB employees donated $250 in toys from their “Jeans for a Cause” fund.
