Northern Metals donated $30,000 to the Becker Fire Department for the purchase of new battery powered extrication tools (jaws of life).

According to Becker Fire Chief Doug Kolbinger, the battery tools are much more portable and quicker to use than the hydraulic tools. 

“There are no hydraulic hoses to connect and we are not limited to a certain distance from the truck,” he said.

“We are very appreciative to Northern Metals for this generous donation. It will definitely have an impact on the services we can provide the community.”
