Two Big Lakers were in an accident last Saturday in Elk River — one of which was a motorcyclist.

According to law enforcement, 30-year-old Samantha Jean Aschenbrener of Big Lake was driving her 2012 Honda Civic at around 5:07 p.m. last Saturday and was attempting a  north-wardly turn onto Joplin Street NW off Hwy. 10. A 2025 Harley Davidson FLSL, driven by 45-year-old  Justin James Underwood of Big Lake, collided with Aschenbrener  near the intersection of Hwy. 10 and Joplin St. NW.

The roads were considered dry and alcohol was not involved.

Underwood was transported to Centra Care Monticello with non life-threatening injuries.  Aschenbrener was uninjured.

Assisting at the scene were Elk River PD/FD/Rescue.
