Song and dance, vocal and instrumental solos, comedy and magic were among the talents on display at the annual Becker Middle School holiday talent show Friday morning in the high school gymnasium.
Santa hats and reindeer horns were plentiful in the audience, as were the “colorful” Christmas sweaters shown off by many of the teachers in attendance.
A highlight of the program was the announcement of the winner of the annual “Penny Wars” competition. Media specialist Holly Pringle made the presentation to the 2013 winners, the Jump Start class in Tonja Hanson’s seventh-grade English class.
The effort raised more than $1,600 this year, which the winning class will donate to cancer research.
