Local flavor at State Fair

Snake River Farms staffed the Minnesota Grown booth on Thurs., August 22 (the first day of the Minnesota State Fair). 

Tom Barthel and his wife, Gail, along with six other family members, shared information about the Minnesota Grown organization. The group also offered temporary water tattoos to fair-goers.

Minnesota Grown Program is a statewide partnership between the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and producers of Minnesota agricultural products. Created in the late 1980’s by specialty crop growers to differentiate their products, the program has become a trusted resource to connect producers and consumers.

According to the StarTribune, The state fair had the strongest year yet since the COVID disuptions, but fell 200,000 people short of setting another attendance record.

Nearly 2 million people attended.
