The July Clearwater Twp. meeting was brief with a short agenda, consisting of review of a junk complaint letter and appointing election judges and a new deputy clerk.
Clerk Jean Just asked township supervisors to review the junk complaint response letter she drafted to send to property owners whose properties were found to be in noncompliance. The township has received complaints of properties with large amounts of junk and made the decision last month to send each owner a letter outlining what can be done to come into compliance.
The letter first states what the property owner is in error of, then explains what should be done. Lastly it invites them to contact township supervisors or come to a monthly meeting if they have any questions regarding the process.
After discussion, the board requested Just add in three options on what the property owners can do about their junk, which included (1) removing it, (2) placing it in a storage building, or (3) screening it from view.
