After last November’s referendum passed, ISD 726 has reinstated some programming that was reduced in 2014-15 due to cuts.
Supt. Dr. Stephen Malone said the primary, intermediate and middle schools will reinstate to full time slots physical education, media, music, keyboarding, band language/cultures, lifeskills, health and art for the 2016-17 school year.
At the high school level, seven sections that were reduced for 2015-16 were added for 2016-17. A personal finance unit was added to economics and required for sophomores. AP biology will be a new elective and College In The Schools World History will also be a new elective.
Also with the passing of the referendum, three new teachers were added at the second, fourth and fifth grade levels to lower class sizes and make them more manageable.
