A farewell party was thrown Saturday in honor of Staff Sergeant Zachary Gardner, who is preparing for his third deployment.

The event was held at the Becker Fire Dept. and was hosted by the Becker Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organization.

“I wanted to send a special shout out to Becker Beyond the Yellow Ribbon,” Zach said in a Facebook post. “Thank you for hosting another amazing event! The impact this organization has had on the local veterans and their families is absolutely amazing! What you do for the community does not go unnoticed. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!”

Zach is a computer support analyst at CentraCare Health-Monticello.
