Clearview Elementary was “feelin’ groovy” during their annual spring Scholastic book fair this past week.
Scholastic book fairs bring the excitement of a bookstore right to the school, featuring mobile cases of popular children’s books at affordable prices. Scholastic provides the books, tools and display cases for the events, which are then run by volunteers, teachers and librarians.
The Feelin’ Groovy event was a success, with Clearview collecting 174 books for their library through the “Scholastic Dollars” they receive as their portion of the sales.
It’s proven that children who read and are read to perform better in school. Books help children develop language skills, improve vocabulary, open up new worlds and enrich lives.
