Deputy Clerk Marilyn Danielson was honored at a retirement party at city hall Thursday where friends, colleagues and relatives enjoyed cake, coffee and conversation.
Danielson began her career at the City of Becker in October of 1989. She has held many positions within the city and has helped out at the Community Center, Pebble Creek, Becker Police, Public Works and the Fire Dept.
“I’ve done a lot of different things,” she said. “I’ve even taken minutes, worked the control room and cleaned the parks.”
Dozens of people showed up Thursday including one of Marilyn’s daughters and grandchild, Mayor Tracy Bertram, former Clerk Nancy Fiereck, Becker Twp. Clerk Lucinda Messman, ex-BPD Secretary June Hubbard and many other staffers and friends.
Danielson says she plans on traveling a bit upon retirement — especially to take an extended trip to Texas where another daughter lives.
“I may head out to Washington, too, where a grandson lives,” she said.
The grandson is Tyler, son of Joe (son) and Tanya (daughter-in-law) Danielson of Becker Twp.
“I’ll hopefully get the chance to finish some projects I’ve been working on over the years,” Marilyn said. “Just enjoy things. Be with the grandchildren.”
Well deserved Marilyn.
