CVBC hosts quarterly meeting

CVBC held their quarterly meeting Thursday, July 14th at St. Cloud/Clearwater RV Park, hosted by Mary and Eldon Peterson. Dan Lunning with Cutting Edge Catering provided lunch. 

CVBC president Glenna Soenneker called the meeting to order. Introductions were made by people attending the meeting. CVBC Vice President Lori Johnson gave a recap on the annual Explore Clear Lake/Clearwater Business Expo held in May. Discussion was held and suggestions given on how to continue to improve the annual expo. 

Clear Lake/Clearwater Community Guide (printed and distributed by Patriot Newspaper) was discussed. 

Music and Movies In The Park Co-Chair Alyx Johnson (Johnson Materials) gave an update on the summer Music and Movies In The Park program being held on Thursdays at Eldorado Park in Clearwater this summer offering either a movie or live music, as well as food trucks. She thanked sponsors for the event, which include the following: Platinum sponsors: Clearwater Legion Post 323 and Irrigation Management. Silver sponsors: Parts City, Collins Brothers Towing, McDonalds Meats, Now IT Connects, Great River Regional Library, Glass Slipper Boutique and Johnson Materials, Inc. Clearwater Legion Riders were present and gave details about the upcoming Legion Riders Homeless Veteran run happening Saturday, August 6th with a ride leaving at 10:30 a.m. and dinner being served from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (or while supplies last). Live music will be provided by Todd Utpadel from 4pm to 6:30 p.m. with a gun raffle at 7pm. A silent/live auction happens from 4 to 6:15 p.m. Live Nation will be providing music from 7 to 11 p.m. with a $5 cover charge. 

CVBC Secretary Jenny Massman briefly discussed American Heritage Bank’s partnership with St. Cloud State University to fill job vacancies.

There was discussion about the possibility of starting a Clearwater/Clear Lake Farmer’s Market in the next couple of years. 

Tri County Alliance pastor Dave Fogal gave an update on the Welcome to the Community packets. 

CVBC members are encouraged to invite business friends to future meetings. 

CVBC Treasurer Eron Bordson gave a report. 

The next CVBC meeting will be held Thursday, October 13th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Zylla-Rolf Studio Gallery located at 12180 Hancock St, Becker.
