Clearwater City Council member and EDA chair Kris Crandall was on hand to share an update on city happenings at the CVBC quarterly meeting. He reported that Clearwater City Hall still has some disposable masks available at city hall if businesses are in need of more masks. Crandall let people know the CARES funds application deadline had been extended to October 12 and that the EDA is looking for people to serve on the board. Crandall announced the city council is looking for feedback regarding the mosquito spraying that has been happening in Clearwater and said people can provide feedback to city staff via email or Facebook or can attend the November city council meeting to share their thoughts.
Wright County Sherriff Sgt. Brian Johnson gave an update from Sgt. Johnson reported that domestic related calls and mental health calls have seen an increase since during the pandemic. He also explained residents may notice the Wright County Sheriff’s vehicles have a new look with a new color scheme, transitioning from brown to black.
Cutting Edge Catering’s Dan Lunning shared information about how his business has fared during the COVID pandemic. Despite a slow start this spring, business has picked up and remained steady throughout the summer. Lunning stated that for the first time in several years, broasted chicken is now again being offered on their catering menu.
