Following their annual tradition, last week Clearview Elementary fifth-graders once again created scarecrows to greet visitors and adorn the school’s front lawn for fall.
Working in groups of three to five, the students brainstormed ideas for their scarecrow’s family activity based theme. Choosing their best idea, they then drew a sketch of it along with creating a list of accessories they would need to bring their vision to life.
With supplies gathered, the students trooped out to the front of the school to build their creations with donated bales of straw. Once scarecrow season is over, the straw will be used to cover plants in Clearview’s reading garden.
