Clearview Hosts ‘Winter Sing’

Staff, parents and students joined together Tuesday afternoon for the traditional “Winter Sing” that marks the start of the Holiday break at Clearview Elementary School in Clear Lake.

The program was held in the new gymnasium at the school, and featured a musical sing-along of such classics as “Deck the Halls”, “Up on the Housetop”, “Feliz Navidad”, “Frosty the Snowman” and the Yoopers classic “Rusty Chevrolet”.  Other selections included “Joyous Hanukah” and “Peace Will Come”, the ending song.

The program also featured a performance by the Clearview Recorder Orchestra, and a performance of “Stand by Me” by the school staff, with a solo by Jessi Bost, whose lovely voice had been noted during other programs at the school earlier in the year.  Music teacher Karen Ingeman provided piano accompaniment for the program.

Principal Sheri Rutar introduced the song, and stated that it was especially appropriate this year, in light of all of the turmoil and uncertainty that has been going on in the world.
