Look out area garage sale buffs... little Bryce Roelike is at it again this year.
Last year, nine-year-old Bryce wanted to hold a special garage sale for all the people in his life who have been affected by cancer. He organized the weekend event at his aunt’s home during the Freedom Days festivities and called it, “Cancer Sucks: Relay for ‘Love’ Life” to honor his mom and his aunt who have all been affected by the disease.
When Bryce’s sales from that weekend came in, he realized he had taken in $1,700. That amount was immediately matched by D.M. Motors of Clearwater and further donations and sales brought the total to $4,150 and all the proceeds went directly to the local American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraising organization.
This year, Bryce will be holding his sale the weekend of June 2-4 at the Becker Legion Hall (old fire hall) at 12155 Hancock St. with doors opening each day at 8 a.m. and close whenever things slow down later in the day.
There will be baked goods, hunting and fishing stuff, holiday decor, clothing and so much more.
“We are hoping word gets out and around and people come and open their hearts to help find a cure for this nasty thing they call cancer,” said Bryce’s mom.
Bryce Roelike is the son of Tim and Kelli Martin of Becker.
