Boeke honored with IBNA award

Kayla Boeke of Zimmerman was recognized by the Iowa Broadcast News Association at its annual conference held Saturday, April 29, at the Prairie Meadows Conference Center in Altoona.

Boeke won third place, In-Depth Series.

KWAR-FM Radio won first place awards for Best Newscast, Sports Coverage, In-Depth Series, Feature and Public Affairs. Knight Vision, Wartburg’s news, sports, film and streaming outlet, was recognized with first-place awards for News Photography and In-Depth Series. The outlets won an additional 13 second- and third-place awards.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal arts college internationally recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,444 students. Wartburg is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and named after the castle in Germany where Martin Luther took refuge disguised as a knight during the stormy days of the Reformation while translating the Bible from Greek into German.
