In this time of pandemic, the Big Eagle Lake Improvement Association (BELIA) is looking for new means of fundraising to support Big Eagle Lake in Big Lake and Orrock Townships.
Each year the association spends $15 - $20,000 for the treatment of aquatic invasive species such as curly leaf pondweed and Eurasian water milfoil. They accomplish this through memberships and with fundraisers. Next year will be no different.
Without being able to host their regular fundraisers, BELIA is trying something new. For those who are one of the many people who fishes, boats, swims, and generally enjoys using Big Eagle Lake, come join BELIA for BINGO in the comfort of one’s own home.
The association’s callers — Raeanne Danielowski, former mayor of Big Lake and current Sherburne County Commissioner, and Gloria Vande Brake, Director of the Big Lake Chamber of Commerce and Industry — will call BINGO from The Buff, formerly The Friendly Buffalo.
• Hooooo? Friends of Big Eagle Lake;
• What? HalloWine and Bingo;
• Where? The comfort and safety of your own home;
• When? Friday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. with 10 sets of Bingo games beginning at 7:15 p.m.;
• How much does it cost? $20 per person gets you two BINGO cards to use for the evening;
• To register, go to their website, www.BELIA.org and click on ‘Upcoming Events’.
• Players will receive a Zoom link to join the virtual BINGO and a pair of BINGO cards to print off around October 28;
• And Yes! Prizes have been donated by area businesses such as Home Depot, Target, Steve’s Elk River Nursery, Pizza Factory, and others…
This is a great excuse to see one’s friends virtually, have a party, or join BELIA with limited seating at ‘The Buff’. Thank you for your support!
