Becker police chase stolen vehicle to St. Cloud

Sunday, at approximately 10:22 p.m., a Becker Police Officer received a traffic complaint of a vehicle traveling into Becker on Hwy. 10. The officer observed the vehicle weaving and having a hard time staying within its driving lane.

When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated and a pursuit was initiated.

The Becker Police Dept. was joined in the pursuit by the Sherburne Co. Sheriff’s Office, MN State Patrol and St. Cloud Police Depts.

Stop sticks were deployed prior to entering St. Cloud, however, the driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve off  Hwy. 10 and into a neighborhood at which time a pursuit intervention technique (PIT maneuver) was applied to the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a rest near the intersection of Oak Street and 15th Ave. SE in the City of St. Cloud.

The driver was examined by medical professionals — both on scene and at the St. Cloud Hospital — prior to being transported to the Sherburne County Jail in Elk River.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as  Angelina Marie Gatto (18) of Blaine. The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Burnsville.

Gatto was booked pending multiple charges to partially include: Fleeing Police in Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, Use of Altered License Plates, etc.
