The Becker Public Library is offering the following programs and activities.

 

May 3 - Preschool Storytime

Becker Public Library is offering preschool storytime for ages 2-6, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Tues., May 3. Preschool storytimes will also be offered May 17 and 28. Preschool storytime involves stories, singing and crafts to help build kindergarten readiness.

 

Children ages five to 12 are invited to read to Elsie at the library Tues. May 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Elsie is a certified therapy dog. Each session is 15 to 20 minutes long. Enjoy the companionship and undivided attention of Elsie and her handler as you read a story. Registration is required. 

 

Harpist Colleen Austin will perform in the library Thurs., May 5 from 5-7 p.m., as visitors browse the Becker schools art show during the open house reception of the art display. All art is produced by students from the Becker school system. The art will be on display for viewing by all ages throughout May. This event is funded in part by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

 

The Friends of the Becker Library Book Sale are hosting a used book sale at the Becker Community Center meeting rooms Fri., May 6 from 2- p.m., and Sat., May 7 from 9-11:45 a.m. Browse and buy from more than a thousand donated used books. Proceeds support the Becker Public Library.

 

Children ages three to 12 are invited to made a fun craft at the library Sat., May 7 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This is a self-directed event with all supplies provided by the Friends of the Becker Library. 

 

Children ages two to six are invited to attend a very posh party at the library Tues., May 10 from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. It’s a Fancy Nancy/Fancy Clancy party. Come dressed in your fanciest outfit. Make fancy crafts, read “Fancy Nancy” by Jane O'Connor and have refreshments to practice your manners. Attendance limit is 30 and registration is required.

Great River Regional Library (GRRL) provides library services at 32 public libraries in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright counties. Becker Public Library  Hours are: Mon. 2-8, Tue. 10-6, Wed. 2-6, Thurs. 2-8, Fri. 2-5, Sat. 10-1.
