Alyssa Haus A Scholarship Finalist For Essay

Alyssa Haus — a 2013 Becker High School graduate — was named one of 10 finalists for the SuretyBonds.com Small Business Success Student Scholarship Program.

Haus, who currently attends Bethel University in St. Paul, was selected from more than 500 applications reviewed by the SuretyBonds.com committee. Three of the finalists will win a $1,500 scholarship to be used towards furthering their education.

Haus’ essay is entitled, “Shaping lives in significant ways” and describes the effect her family’s construction business has had on her and other family members as they’ve matured.
In her essay, Alyssa writes about the trials and tribulations of her family owning and running a construction business. She describes how she observed the dealings of the company and how the work ethic she saw in her grandfather, her father and her uncle has shaped the person she is today.
