The Tribute to the Troops Motorcycle group is coming to Becker to honor the life and military service of Teddy Friedman, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning October 9, 2021, in Colorado Springs, CO.
Friedman served as an Infantry Specialist at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. He is the son of Christina and Steve Friedman of Becker.
The Tribute to the Troops ride (21st Annual) will occur Fri., Sept. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Teddy’s parent’s house at 13498 Mallard Drive in Becker. Over 200 motorcycles are expected to participate.
After High School, Teddy attended the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, where he also played football, and then attended St. Cloud State University. During college he worked at Becker Furniture World before enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving in the Infantry.
Teddy had future plans to go into law enforcement in Rapid City, SD alongside his brother, Nick. He had 11 siblings including, Nick, Tatianna, Isaiah, Parker, Adair, Kerry, Noah, Rainna, Alyssa, Johnny and Benjamin.
Since 2004, Minnesota members of Tribute to the Troops have conducted an annual ride weekend each September, visiting dozens of families over the years. Each year, the number of participants has grown, helping to increase awareness of the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave American heroes and their families. The September weekend includes a ride to Camp Ripley to honor active duty personnel stationed there and a special program to honor the heroes and their families.
