CITY OF CLEARWATER

ORDINANCE NO. 2024-03

AMENDING PART I, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE II – CITY COUNCIL OF THE CLEARWATER CITY CODE

THE CITY OF CLEARWATER HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

City Code Section 2-19, Compensation is hereby repealed and replaced as outlined in the attached Exhibit A.

Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective January 1, 2025 following its passage and publication, which is hereby authorized by the City Council.

ADOPTED THIS 11th DAY OF MARCH 2024.

Sec. 2-19. Compensation.

The compensation to be paid the elected officials of the city shall be as follows: 

Elected Officials

Pay Item Mayor Council

Monthly base salary $200.00 $100.00 

Per meeting 175.00 150.00

Cell phone 20.00 20.00 

Attendance at the following city-sponsored events are meetings and are paid per the above chart:

• City Days at the Capitol sponsored by League of Mn Cities (LMC) or Coalition of Greater MN Cities (CGMC)

• Meetings of the Wright County Mayor’s Association (WCMA)

• City Clean-up Day(s) 

• Attendance at City Council Training Sessions offered by LMC

• Other meetings if approved by the City Council.

Attendance at other meetings or events are covered under the base pay or are part of the position of City Council Member (e.g., participation in community festivals, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, etc.)
