Wastewater Treatment Facility
Domestic Screen Replacement
Sealed Bids will be received electronically by the City of Becker (“Owner”), on Quest CDN until 2:00 pm, on December 6, 2023, for the construction of the proposed Wastewater Treatment Facility Domestic Screen Replacement for said Owner, as described in the Specifications and drawings therefore on file in the office of the City of Becker. Bids will be publicly opened, read, and tabulated via a teams meeting on the day specified above, and will be acted upon by the Owner at that time or at such later time and place as the Owner may then determine.
GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION
All Work, materials, and equipment are to be in accordance with the Contract Documents on file at the office of HR Green, Inc. (“Engineer”), 2550 University Avenue West Suite 400N, St. Paul, MN 55144, by this reference made a part hereof as though fully set out and incorporated herein. The Work for the said improvement, as required by the Contract Documents, is generally described as follows:
Project generally consists of demolition of an existing screen, compactor, controls, and associated conduit, conductors, and piping, as well as the installation of new mechanical screen and screw wash press, the disconnection of existing non-potable water piping, installation of new non-potable water pipe, and installation of new control panels and associated circuits.
Work under the proposed Contract Documents shall be commenced upon written Notice to Proceed and shall be completed and ready for operation on or before February 6, 2025, subject to any extension of time, which may be granted by the Owner.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE
Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a pre-bid walk through of the proposed Work site which will be conducted jointly by the Owner and Engineer at 2:00 pm on November 15, 2023 at Wastewater Treatment Facility. The objective of the walk through is to acquaint bidders with the site conditions.
OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION
Each Bid shall be made on the Bid Form prepared for this purpose, which may be obtained from the Engineer. Any alteration in the official Bid Form will entitle the Owner, at its option, to reject the Bid from consideration. The Contractor’s Bid Bond shall be in an amount equal to 5 percent of the amount of the Bid, made payable to the Owner. The Bid Bond may be forfeited in the full amount to the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful Bidder fails to enter into contract and file acceptable bonds satisfactory to the Owner assuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law within 15 days after the acceptance of the Bid.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to readvertise for Bids or to defer action on the Bids received for a period not to exceed 45 days from and after the date and time specified in this Notice to Bidders for receiving said Bids, and to waive irregularities and informalities.
