NOTICE OF ELECTION

TO:  Voters of the City of Big Lake, Township of Big Lake, City of Monticello, Township of Monticello, Township of Becker, City of Otsego, and Township of Silver Creek.

RE:   Election of Hospital Board Members of Monticello-Big Lake Community Hospital District.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that an election of Hospital Board members to the Board of Monticello-Big Lake Community Hospital District shall be conducted in conjunction with the 

General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The following seats on the Board are up for election:

One member from the City of Big Lake; 

One member from the Township of Silver Creek;

One member from the City of Monticello;

One member for the Member at Large

Candidates for the Member-at-Large must reside within any city or township within the Hospital District; (City of Big Lake, Township of Big Lake, 

City of Monticello, Township of Monticello, Township of Silver Creek, Township of Becker, and City of Otsego).  Candidates can onlPersons elected this year shall be elected for a term of four years, commencing on the first Monday in 

January, 2025. Persons elected on November 5, 2024, shall be issued a Certificate of Election, and will be required to file an Oath and Acceptance of office in order to qualify for office.  

Any person can file who will be at least 21 years of age on January 1, 2025.  Candidates must reside within the city or township which they seek to represent. Member at Large candidate may live in any City or Township that makes up this Hospital District An “Affidavit for Candidacy” must be filed.  This “Affidavit for Candidacy” can be obtained from the Clerk of the City/Township in which he/she resides.  Candidate must file with the Clerk of the city/township where he/she resides within the filing period.

Filings open: Tuesday, July 30, 2024   - During normal business office hours.

Filings close: Tuesday, August 13, 2024   - Filings close at 5 p.m.          

Deadline for withdrawal from being a candidate once filed is Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Interested applicants should check with City/Township office for their office hours.

There is no filing fee.
