Notice of Filing for City Election 

2024 General Election

Notice is hereby given that filing for the offices of Mayor and City Council will open Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. and close Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Offices to be Filled:

- One (1) Mayor position, which serves a two-year term

- Two (2) Council Member positions, which serve a 

  four-year term each.

Terms begin January 6, 2025.

Special Election:

- One (1) Council Member position with a two-year term.

  Term begins following certification of election results   and expiration of challenge period. 

Affidavits of Candidacy will be available and accepted weekdays beginning Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Clearwater City Hall, 605 County Road 75, during regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday –Thursday and until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024.  You must declare which seat or position that you are filing for on your Affidavit.

The following criteria must be met for the Mayor or City Council seats.  The candidate:

• Must be eligible to vote in Minnesota;

• Has not filed for any other office for the 2024 primary    or general election;

• Must be 21 years or more upon assuming office;

• Must have maintained residence in the City of 

  Clearwater for at least 30 days before the election; and

• Must pay the $2.00 filing fee at the time of filing.

The Election for these City Offices will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in the City of Clearwater between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
