CITY OF BIG LAKE, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING GRANTING OF BUSINESS SUBSIDY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Joint Powers Board of the City of Big Lake, Minnesota , and Big Lake Township , Minnesota will hold a public hearing at a special meeting of the Joint Powers Board beginning at 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, to be held at City Hall Council Chambers, 160 Lake Street North, in Big Lake, Minnesota, on the request of Lion Industries LLC (the “Company”) in connection with the proposed construction of a 16,700 square foot manufacturing facility to be leased to Rawr Organics LLC, and to grant financial assistance of $212,851.00 which is provided in the conveyance of property to the Company through a forgivable loan for the purchase price for the property identified as tax parcel number 65-00567-0010,(the “Property”). The Joint Powers Board will consider selling the Property which is jointly owned by the City of Big Lake, Minnesota and Big Lake Township, Minnesota for the sum of One and No/100 Dollars ($1.00), which is a business subsidy, in response to the proposed sale and development. The business subsidy will result in an increase of the tax base of the City and provide employment opportunities in the City.

Information about the proposed business subsidy will be on file and available for public inspection at the office of the office the City Clerk at City Hall.

A person with residence in or the owner of taxable property in the granting jurisdiction may file a written complaint with the City if the City fails to comply with Sections 116J.993 to 116J.995, and no action may be filed against the City for the failure to comply unless a written complaint is filed.

All interested persons may appear at the public hearing and present their views orally or in writing. Anyone needing reasonable accommodations or an interpreter should contact the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, telephone 763-263-2107.
