I. CALL TO ORDER

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of 

Independent School District No. 727, Big Lake Schools, 

was called to order on August 22, 2024 at 6:30 PM.

II. ROLL CALL

All Board members were present except Mr. Derek Nelson.

III. APPROVE AGENDA

Chair Reasoner moved agenda item XI. FAMILY RESOURCE 

CENTER DISCUSSION before X. READ ACT UPDATE.

A motion passed to approve the agenda.

IV. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Chair Reasoner and the Board led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Julie Schultz and Jodi Heurung presented to the board.

X. READ ACT UPDATE

Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Minda

Anderson, gave an update to the board.

XI. SCHOOL BOARD COMMITTEE/

REPRESENTATIVE UPDATES

A. Finance—none

B. Policy—continued to review policies

C. Buildings and Grounds—none

D. School Board Representatives—Schabilion gave an 

update on SAFF

XII. SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Superintendent Truebenbach gave his monthly update to 

the board.

A. District Construction Tour—toured the construction 

projects around the district—Sixberry left at 7:39 PM

XIII. ADJOURNMENT

A motion passed to adjourn the meeting.
