Mayor’s Update

As the leaves start to change and cooler weather is finally upon us, there is plenty of action happening at City Hall as local government continues to serve the residents of Becker.

Open House

With construction finally completed on the City Hall / Police Department expansion, there will be several opportunities for residents to come and tour the new and remodeled building.

Tours will be available on the hour, starting on October 23, from noon until 4:00 p.m. and again on October 24 from 8:00 a.m. until noon.  An evening session will be offered on October 28 from 4:00 p.m. until 6 p.m.

I encourage all residents to come and see the new facilities.

Post Office

I wish I had some news to share about the post office situation, but despite repeated attempts to find a resolution, we have not received approval from USPS officials.  We are doing everything we can to keep PO Boxes in the City of Becker as we work towards a more permanent solution.  It is my strong desire to keep both operations and retail services within our community and we continue to pressure the USPS along those lines.  I will share further updates as I learn any new, additional information.

Working Together

Our next local government roundtable is scheduled for October 23, and it will again be a chance for elected officials and key personnel from Sherburne County, Becker Township, Becker Public Schools and the City of Becker to come together and find solutions and create efficiencies.
