Hospice Volunteer - Allina Hospice volunteers play a vital role in maximizing the quality of life for hospice patients while supporting their families. Volunteers might read to patients, play a game, run errands, or prepare meals. Some specially trained volunteers provide certified massage therapy or pet therapy. The setting for hospice visits in Sherburne County might be in a personal home or in any of a variety of care facilities. Each applicant is screened, interviewed, and receives free training and ongoing support/education. Scheduling is flexible. 1-4 hours per week required. Call Karen, 612-262-7583.
Entertainer- Do you like to sing those “Old Time Favorite” songs? Shepherd of Grace Assisted Living and Memory Care in Becker is looking for volunteers to share their musical talents. Do you play the guitar or accordion? Don’t play an instrument that’s ok. Sing along books are available that can be used to lead small groups in a cappella fashion. Library Assistants – Sherburne History Center Library Assistants help with a variety of library and archival projects including: photo identification projects, creation and maintenance of vertical research files, and research. Volunteers should be able to maintain a regular work schedule, preferably weekly, during regular public hours, Tues. through Fri. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shifts are generally 3-4 hours each.
