The Gathering – Great River Area Faith in Action (FIA) is seeking volunteers to help with a fun, social respite group called The Gathering. It is held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month located in Becker. This is a place for caregivers to bring their loved ones, so they can have time for appointments, and sometime for themselves. Hospice Volunteer – There is a need for caring, compassionate volunteers, who are willing to spend time with Hospice patients and families, who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Volunteers provide the extra love and care the clients and their families need at this time in their lives. They offer support by running errands, staying with the patient so the family members can take a break, reading to patients, or holding their hand. Volunteers are not asked to become a family counselor, just a non-judgmental listener and friend. Orientation is provided. Volunteers donate as much or as little time as desired. Bailiff Assistant – Be present and available in a courtroom at the Sherburne County Government Center to deliver documents within the building to and from the court and perform other clerical functions.  Provide an escort to those attending court (who are not in custody) to other areas of court services, such as the cashier or the probation department.  Volunteer may also serve in the court check-in area to direct those reporting for court and relay messages among court staff.  Volunteers are needed to serve one full day per week.  Training, uniform shirts and lunch provided.
