Garden Associate - Use your green thumb to assist with planting, cultivating, harvesting and seed saving while you learn more about plants in the Kelley Farm’s Historic Garden and Farm Lab Garden. You'll use common garden tools and may occasionally use power equipment during your weekly shifts. Volunteers must be comfortable working outdoors and getting dirty while you get some healthy exercise and occasionally provide information to visitors. Hospital Information Desk – Provide information, directions, and assistance in a friendly, courteous manner to visitors and patients as they enter the CentraCare Monticello Hospital. Refuge Youth Supervisor – Come enjoy the great outdoors this summer! The Youth Conservation Corps has two youth (ages 15-18) openings who want to engage in a learning experience at the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge while helping meet project goals set by the Refuge. Assist Refuge staff to supervise the youth as they work on their assignments. Knowledge of basic hand tool operation and the ability to provide clear, safe instruction of proper use. Report project progress and youth performance comments to Refuge staff. Past supervisory skills required. 8 week volunteer commitment from June -August 2018. 16-24 hours per week.
