Pet Therapy – Volunteers and their dogs are wanted to provide hospitality, conversation, care and friendly visits to those staying at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton.  Dogs must be over 1 year of age, registered with Pet Partners or Therapy Dog International and practice pet therapy according to those policies and procedures.  Pet masters must possess strong communication/customer service skills, an outgoing personality and speak English fluently.  Time commitment varies.  Contact Jackelyn -  jbekius1@fairview.org - 763-389-6565.
 
Transportation - Great River Area Faith in Action (FIA) has a mission of supporting individuals, especially the elderly, so they are able to stay living in their own homes. Clients are located throughout Sherburne County in in parts of surrounding counties.  Help FIA meet their mission by providing a ride to FIA clients who have no other way to get to medical or community appointments.  Volunteers use their own cars and are notified in advance.  Days and times needed vary, and are flexible.  Training provided and background check conducted. Youth Homeless Center - Open Doors for Youth is a drop-in resource center in Elk River where youth experiencing homelessness can fulfil basic needs and acquire resources to become self-sufficient. Immediate needs such as clothing, food and hygiene supplies, as well as essential services such as medical, legal, education and employment support will be available.   Many volunteers are needed to meet these needs.  Consider serving as a member of one of the following teams: Drop-In Center On-Site Team; Donations Team; Fund Development Team; Meal Team.  Contact LuAnn - LuannS.opendoors@gmail.com   - 763-241-0199.
