Transportation – Drive Sherburne County Health and Human Service clients who have no other way to get to their doctor, employment, counseling or other necessary appointments. Drivers use their own cars and are notified in advance. Days and times are flexible. Mileage and start-up costs are reimbursed. Service depends on criminal background check, doctor’s permission, and a personal interview. Reading With Gusto! Use your expressive voice and smiling face to demonstrate to young children just how important and fun reading can be! Readers will do reading events as a group in local elementary schools as requested. Must be available for a daytime events 2-4 times per month. Group is reorganizing for the 2015-2016 school year. Local History Indoors and Out – The Sherburne History Center in Becker utilizes volunteers both indoors and out-of-doors. Whether it is working on a historical research/archive project, doing data entry, or keeping the grounds tidy, volunteers are tasked with helping to preserve the history of Sherburne County.
