Anna’s Tea for Widows in the Community
Thurs., Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. at Becker Baptist Church, 11951 Hancock St. Former owner of Cameo Rose, Deb Johnson, will teach us how to make a floral arrangement. Ladies who R.S.V.P. by noon Oct. 10 will take home a floral arrangement. R.S.V.P. to Terri at 763-261-4202 by Oct. 10.
 
Sherburne History Center Book Club
The meeting of the SHC book club will be Thurs., Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m. This month’s selection is Walking the Rez Road by Jim Northrup. There are limited copies available at the Sand Burr Gift Shop inside SHC. There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome. Wright Co. Community Action Home Stretch Class
Wright Co. residents thinking about buying a home are invited to attend a one day workshop designed to help them learn the basics of home ownership.Home Stretch will be offered Sat., Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. –5 p.m. at Annandale City Hall, 30 Cedar St. E., Annandale. Upcoming Programs and Activities at Clearwater Library
Preschool storytime, Tues., Oct. 3 & 10, from 11-11:30 a.m. For ages 0-6. Join us for fall storytime! To help build kindergarten readiness, we’ll read stories, sing songs and do crafts. 
Computer and internet help, Tues., Oct. 3 & 10, from noon-1 p.m. By appointment or just walk in.  Night Owls storytime, Wed. Oct. 4, from 6:30-7 p.m.   For children of all ages. Come in your pajamas for a Hoot! We’ll read sleepy time stories to inspire a dream-filled night.  Photography with Ken  Wed., Oct. 4, the open discussion starts at 6 p.m. For teens and adults. Beginners are encouraged to attend this group of amateur photographers. Agate man, Sat., Oct. 7, 11 a.m. For all ages. Lyndon Johnson, MN rockhound, will share his experiences and knowledge about Lake Superior Agates. “Lakers” can be found in unusual places. Teen Read Week, Sun., Oct. 8-14, during open houts. Calling all teens, share your favorite reads! Includes interactive displays and take-home crafts.  Clearwater Area Friends of the Library meeting, Wed.,  Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m. For teens and adults. This is a great opportunity to volunteer and support your library.   1,000 Books Before Kindergarten graduation, Sat. Oct. 14, 11 a.m. We are holding a graduation ceremony for the young readers that reached the goal of reading 1,000 books before kindergarten! Tree Shakers in Clearwater area,  Sat., Oct. 14, 11 a.m. Beginner to advanced experience welcome. For ages 16 and up. This monthly genealogy group meets to access Ancestry Library Edition. Upcoming Programs and Activities at Becker Library
Empty the bookshelf challenge, Oct. 1-31. Challenge yourself to read something out of your comfort zone. Read books from the YA shelves with authors’ last names ranging from P-S. If the shelves remain empty of these authors, we’ll throw a pizza party on Fri., Nov. 3.  1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, ongoing, for ages 0-5. Registration is required.  Becker book club, ongoing, for adults. Read the monthly book selection and join the group for discussion. Stop by the desk to hear about our current book title. Registration is required.   Read and play, Tues, Oct. 3 & 10, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. For ages 2-6. Young children (with a favorite adult) are invited to enjoy books, songs, rhymes and movement activities. No registration necessary.  Genealogy class, Tues.,  Oct. 11, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. For teens and adults. Friends of the Becker Library Book Sale
Friends of the Becker Library fall book and media sale will be at the Becker Community Center on the following dates and times: Thurs. Oct. 5, 10-8 p.m.; Fri. Oct. 6, 10-6 p.m.; Sat. Oct. 7, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Most items are $.50-$1.
