Sherburne History Center Book Club

The meeting of the SHC book club will be Thurs., Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m. This month’s selection is Walking the Rez Road by Jim Northrup. Wright Co. Community Action Home Stretch Class

Wright Co. residents thinking about buying a home are invited to attend a one day workshop designed to help them learn the basics of home ownership.Home Stretch will be offered Sat., Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. –5 p.m. at Annandale City Hall, 30 Cedar St. E., Annandale. For ages 16 and up. This monthly genealogy group meets to access Ancestry Library Edition. Empty the bookshelf challenge, Oct. 1-31. Challenge yourself to read something out of your comfort zone. Read books from the YA shelves with authors’ last names ranging from P-S. If the shelves remain empty of these authors, we’ll throw a pizza party on Fri., Nov. 3.  1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, ongoing, for ages 0-5. Registration is required.  Becker book club, ongoing, for adults. Read the monthly book selection and join the group for discussion. Stop by the desk to hear about our current book title. Registration is required.   Read and play, Tues, Oct. 3 & 10, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. For ages 2-6. Young children (with a favorite adult) are invited to enjoy books, songs, rhymes and movement activities.
