Clearwater Friends of the Library
The monthly meeting will be held Wed., July 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Clearwater Library.  Any individual in the Clearwater Area interested in information about the Friends of the Library or in joining the Friends is encouraged to attend.
 
Clearwater Friends of the Library Donations
Clearwater Area Friends of the Library are currently accepting donations of gently used books, DVDs and CDs for their Heritage Days used book sale on Fri., Aug. 4.  Donations can be dropped off at the Clearwater Library. Textbooks, encyclopedias, outdated medical books, magazines, and moldy books can not be accepted. 
 
Young @ Heart
“Friends in Harmony” will sing at July 20 Young @ Heart meeting. Doors open at 10:30 for coffee, cards and conversation. Dinner is served at noon, followed by the program. Reservations are important. Upcoming programs at Becker Library
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Track your progress and win prizes. From birth to Kindergarten, for ages 0-5. Registration is required. Sign up during library hours. Classical Guitar with Jeff Bianchi, Tues., July 11, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. For all ages. This program will be held at the Becker Senior Center, Room 140, 12060 Sherburne Ave., Becker. Read and Play, Tues., July 11, 10:30-11:15 a.m. For ages 2-6. Young children (with a favorite adult) are invited to enjoy books, songs, rhymes and movement activities. No registration necessary.  Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in action, Tues., July 11, 10:30-11:15 a.m. For ages 7+. Curious what types of activities come out of S.T.E.M? Come see a robotics demonstration involving a computerized robot programmed to achieve a certain goal. A robotics team will be available to answer questions. No registration necessary.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Make-N-Take, Sat., July 15, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For ages 5-12.  Use your imagination and creativity, turn a variety of recycled items into a creation of your choice, like a robot or a car. This event is self-directed. All supplies will be provided.  Limit 15.  Preschool Power, Tues., July 18, 10:30-11:15 a.m. For ages 3-5. Materials will be available for kids to have fun learning through STEM activity stations in an unstructured play format.
