Becker Lions Collecting Items To Recycle 
 
Items are: eye glasses, hearing aids, cell phones and printer ink cartridges. Collection boxes are located at the Becker Community Center (entryway) and Insight Eye care.

Bring Joy to Hospice Patients
 
St. Croix Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide companionship to individuals affected by a life-limiting illness. Companion visits are scheduled at your leisure.  Other volunteer opportunities include: vigil, pet therapy (dog), and office administrative. Story-telling, training and mentoring provided. Bring your aluminum cans to the trailer located near Becker True Value and paper and cardboard recyclables to the dumpsters near the same location the first Saturday of every month. There will be a Scout there to help unload between 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

2018 Dylan’s Hope Charity Golf Tournament
 
Fri., Aug. 10 beginning at 11 a.m. at Pebble Creek Golf Club. The event will include a 4 person team scramble, prizes for 1st place and other teams, hole prizes for traditional hole challenges. The entry fee for the tournament is $80 per player, which includes cart, range balls and the meal. Come hungry as the Pebble Creek Grille will be serving a delicious meal. The cost of the meal is only $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the Dylan’s Hope Organization at http://www.dylanshopefoundation.org/foundation-events/.
 
Call for Artists
 
The Becker Area Community Art Festival is looking for artists age 18+ to exhibit current art works (no crafts) at a community art festival. The festival will be held Tues. evening, June 12 - Sat. afternoon, June 16 at the Sherburne History Center, Becker. There is no cost for participating artists or for the community to come and view the show. Artists are expected to work a volunteer shift hosting during the event, and are responsible for their own timely setup and tear down. Tai Ji Quon Program

Young at Heart
 
Lunch will be at noon  Thurs., June 21, at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater, with a freewill donation.  Program will be presented by a volunteer from Pioneer Park in Annandale. She will share memories of one room schools and tell us about some of the many events happening this summer at the Settlement. Second Annual Summer STEM Camp
 
The camp will run from June 18th- June 22nd, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., each day, in Ellison Park, Monticello. Each day will be filled with fun activities on topics such as geology, ecology, weather, physics, and chemistry. The cost of camp is $10/day, or $45/week, but will waive the fee for any families that may need financial assistance. Volunteer Bridge
 
Fix-It Clinic - The City of Big Lake is hosting its first ever Fix-It Clinic on July 12, from 3-6 PM! This means volunteers with tinkering knowledge are needed to help their fellow community members repair items like toasters, stereos, jewelry, radios, sewing machines, lamps, toys, curtains/linens, blenders, fans, printers, phones, coffee makers, etc. Volunteers with skills in electronics, computer and small appliance repair are needed as well as those with sewing, wood working or general repair knowledge are needed to make this event a success! Dining Host - Volunteers make the CentraCare Monticello Care Center evening meal more than just a meal! Volunteers create an enjoyable experience for residents with a warm greeting and assistance with seating, tending to their comfort needs, clearing tables and escorting them back to their rooms as needed. Positions open after 4 p.m. 7 days per week, minimum age 14. A great way to try skills needed in the health care field – compassion, patience, a mature, pleasant demeanor. Annual Fund Drive Coordinator - Friends of the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge is seeking someone dedicated to raise funds to support their mission. Volunteer should have a track record in fundraising/leadership and the ability to operate effectively within an all-volunteer project team. Volunteer should possess a full set of communication/organization skills.
