Cardboard/Newspaper Collection Drop-off

-Becker Boy Scout Troop 92 invites you to recycle your flattened cardboard, office paper and newspaper.
 
Bring these items to the west side of the Jubilee Foods parking lot Sat., Feb. 1, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
 
Flatten all cardboard.

Faith Lutheran ELCA 27th Annual Sweetheart Dinner
 
–will be held Sun., Feb. 9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Becker Community Center. Turkey and all the trimmings will be served.
 
There will be a silent auction, Celebration Baskets and raffle tickets.
 
Donations will be made to Youth Mission Group 2014 - The Hungry Ministry Team.
 
 
Senior Without Partners Luncheon
 
-Seniors Without Partners will be held at Clearwater Travel Plaza in Clearwater, Tues., Feb. 4 at 11:30.
 
 
First Meeting Of The Becker Library Advisory Board For Teens
 
–will take place at the Becker Public Library Thurs., Feb. 13, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be combined with a fun chocolate fest for ages 12 to 18. It’s an opportunity to discuss ideas for programs and events that teens would like to see taking place at the library, and also an opportunity to meet with friends, eat chocolate and play games. This event is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Becker Library.

– items are: eye glasses, hearing aids, cell phones and printer ink cartridges.

Living With Parkinson’s Under The Age Of 60
 
-If you or anyone you know is 60 or under and has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, you are welcome to join a newly forming group.
 
Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake.

Monticello Cancer Center Offering Free Nutrition Class for Cancer Patients and Survivors
 
–on the second Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. at the Monticello Cancer Center. 
 
Topics addressed include benefits of good nutrition, managing eating problems during treatment, how to read food labels and how to eat well after cancer treatment ends.

Snake River Hymn Sing
 
-Snake River Church hymn sing will be Sun., Feb. 9 at 4:30. Hymn sings are held the second Sunday of every month.

-G.A.L.A. stands for “Get A Life Again”.  This is a group of widows and widowers.  They meet twice a month to eat out and socialize.  The events are held at different places around the surrounding counties. There are also different card groups that meet monthly.

Anna’s Tea
 
–An afternoon tea for widows of all communities. Date is Thurs., Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. at Becker  Baptist Church (11951 Habcock St.), Becker.  
 
Guest speaker is Marilyn Wallberg. Mrs. Wallberg resides in Becker and is a renowned international and national converence and retreat speaker.
 
Her topic for Anna’s Tea will be “A Valentine From God, I Love You.” There is no charge.
 
 
DivorceCare For Adults, Teens And Kids
 
-DivorceCare is a weekly support group designed to help those recovering from separation or divorce face their challenges and move toward rebuilding their life.  
 
The BIgD and DC4K are auxiliary programs designed just for students grade 6-12 and kids age 4-grade 5.  Mondays at  6:30 p.m. at Riverside Church.
