The Big Lake girls’ lacrosse team defeated their cross-town rivals on Tuesday night by a score of 9-6. The team trailed 3-0 at the end of the first quarter and 6-5 after three, but the offense exploded for four fourth quarter goals to secure their first win of the season. 

Sloane Griesert scored six goals for the Hornets while Kaelyn Besler, Hannah Weseloh, and Amelia Gardner all added one. 

Last Thursday the team lost 19-0 on the road against Chisago. 

And on Saturday the team travelled to Buffalo for their first ever meeting against the Bison. The Hornets trailed 5-0 after the first quarter and could never recover, eventually falling 14-1. Amber Grunewald scored the lone goal in the fourth quarter.

Next up the team goes to Monticello on Wednesday and has a home game next Tuesday against ROCORI.
