Big Lake Community Fair has much to offer!

This year’s Big Lake Community Fair (formerly known as the Business Expo) is ramping up to be a fun family filled day.

This year’s event is happening Sat., March 16 from 10-2 p.m. at the Big Lake High School and it’s going to be a good one!

The Big Lake Chamber of Commerce, Big Lake Community Education, and various committee members have been planning for months and they say they are ready.

Businesses have an opportunity to sponsor the event and activities and/or have a booth to showcase themselves.  This year the Fair is on track to have over 55 businesses represented.

All proceeds from this event go to Volunteerism Scholarships for area high school seniors. This year $3,000 will be given to local students continuing their education.

Organizers have extended the time of the event by an hour so they are offering up great food options so one can grab a quick lunch while visiting.  Mini sandwiches from Erbert & Gerbert’s, pizza, a “Meal Deal” or choose from other goodies. Ember Coffee will also be for sale at the event.

Farmers Market vendors will also sell locally-produced items in the atrium.

March is Minnesota FoodShare month so people are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or cash donation to drop off upon entry into the school.

There will be a job opportunity table for jobs available or those hiring. (Look for the magnifying glass on the booth.)

Entertainment in the cafeteria includes: BLHS Jazz Band, Starz Dance, a dog training session, and the Ballet Folklórico Rosa Quetzal performers.

Coborn’s will have food samples they are giving away.

Sign up for WHEELS! Thanks to the Fair’s sponsors they are giving away 10 bikes, scooters, or skateboards that day. Stop by a sponsor booth or the chamber booth to sign up for free.

Caricatures by artist Bill Morgan will be free thanks to the sponsorship of Real Broker LLC-Stacey Stanley and El Teca Barber Shop.

Big Lake Lions will provide a free KidSight Vision screening test for kids at their booth.

Big Lake Ambassadors will offer free face painting.

Big Lake Community Education will have a Bingo game board. Complete it and enter the drawing. One can also up at the Chamber booth to win a door prize and learn more about the Big Lake Chamber.

Organizers invite everyone to come out, meet friends, learn about local businesses, grab lunch, and maybe even win a prize.

This event could not happen without the help from sponsors:
