It was all smiles on the dance floor at last Saturday’s Becker American Legion community dance.

Becker Legion dance a smash hit

The Becker American Legion sponsored a free community concert last Saturday and the community responded with residents of all ages in attendance to enjoy the show.

Brian, Dale and Luke provided the music, which featured classic country hits from artists such as Johnny Cash and  Waylon Jennings.  An excellent vocal range combined with the unique sounds from a steel guitar combined for impressive sound.

While the music was spectacular, the food was also excellent with the Legion Auxiliary serving up burgers, beans and all the fixings.

Gator and Steve from the Becker Lions were on hand to serve up the frosty libations, while the Sons of the American Legion sold pop and water.

There were several rounds of a 50-50 raffle and the Legion members were also offering their fabulous Freedom Days raffle tickets for sale.  The top prize is $1,000 cash, donated by Hubbard Electric and Potter Trucking, with many other cash and gift card prizes on the list.  The drawing will occur on June 15 as part of Freedom Days and tickets can be purchased from any Legion member.

Judging by the attendance, as well as the smiles on the faces of the attendees, the Becker American Legion concert was a smashing success.
